I had to call the Concierge to ask how I can get these items. Also, I want to add that since there is not an I-Pad in the room that shows Room Service Menu items, Activity Schedules, Etc. Unbelievable poor service to start out my vacation. I advised her of the problem, and she said, “well I will have to check if they have it”? Come on, this is Your House Cabernet YES, you do. So, I called Room Service AGAIN and the women answering was extremely rude and had a “I don’t care attitude” you could hear through the phone. What, I have never been told this before and especially during this COVID crisis they would not do this, and rather come into your room? So, OK, I will play the game, the knock on the door came and there were 4 glasses of Chardonnay? I mentioned I did not order this, and I ordered Cabernet. I was told that the box is only for dirty dishes. Upon ordering I had asked for them to be delivered into the “Secrets Box” (which I always do, as I did not want to be disturbed while unpacking). Upon arrival into our room I called up room service (because the resort does not have I-Pads in the rooms for ordering) I ordered a few glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon as I like to have some while I am unpacking. Besides the physical appearance it is obvious that the main problem stems to the Poor Management, as this reflects through out the resort in various ways. This resort is showing major wear and tear and needs a total renovation or retirement. I do have to say the best part about the resort is the view off your balcony, really there is not a room that has a bad view, also the Bed and Pillows were much better than expected but the “Best Part” stops there. Masks were required to be worn in All Common Areas (Lobby, Elevators, Resort Grounds). Secrets Vallarta Bay nowhere came close to maintaining Secrets Resorts standards and meeting the level of expectation that is consistent resort wide. I do know their consistent set of standards and what type of service / amenities / quality to expect. I am a Luxury All-Inclusive Travel Consultant specializing in AMResorts, so I have experienced all the AMResort Properties to include all of Secrets Resorts. If we ever do we will not get a preferred suite or even in that tower as the regular rooms have a better ocean view. We had mixed results on drinks depending on the bar and it you want coffee go to the Amber Now side coffee shop. The resort does not own the beach and the vendor walk the beach but are not pushy. The beach at the resort is a mix of sand area then a pebble area, so not real nice. We took a taxi to the Malecon boardwalk for $5 US and it was a beautiful walk. The room is very comfortable and when our deck hot tub didnt work, they fixed it immediately. We are constantly getting our door knocked on even, with the do not disturb sign out, and have to chain lock it to get from them just walking in. The pool service and restaurant service except our experience with the Italian restaurant werr wonderful. We ended up the fourth floor with a rock wall blocking our ocean view if sitting on the deck. We rented a preferred junior suite with ocean view. Our entire two weeks there the forecast said, "feels like 99%"! More Show less They all worked very hard (while wearing masks) in temperatures of 87-89 degrees F. Actually we would have to recommend for excellence all the SECRETS and NOW staff. We want to acknowledge the excellent service and congeniality of Fernanda ( UVC Sales), Alexandra (Buffet), Jaime (AM fishing), Rodrigo & Pollo (pool aerobics & entertainment, Hugo & Manuel (pool service). Occupancy was kept below 50%, masks were required everywhere but the pool/beach areas or when eating, drinking in other areas. All employees worked very hard to protect everyone from Covid 19. One employee's fix was, "we could move you to another room".?!! The iPads are portable and could have been taken from another room w/o moving us. They had problems with the rooms iPad (gave us at least three) - they would work for seconds, then blank screen. Our room was lovely w lovely views of all pools/entire facility and ocean.
